Keep Your Flowers Fresh for Longer
A little care goes a long way. These simple florist tricks will keep your fresh flowers looking beautiful for days longer.
- Trim the stems: Cut about 2 cm off each stem at an angle with sharp scissors before placing your flowers in water, and trim them again every few days. An angled cut helps the stems drink up more water.
- Change the water regularly: Bacteria are the main reason cut flowers fade early. Start with a clean vase, fill it with fresh cool water and change the water every day or two.
- Remove leaves below the waterline: Leaves left under water rot quickly and feed bacteria. Strip off any foliage that would sit below the water before arranging your flowers.
- Feed your flowers: A teaspoon of sugar with a few drops of lemon juice in the vase water feeds your flowers and slows down bacteria, helping the arrangement last longer.
- Keep them cool: Place your vase away from direct sunlight, heaters and draughts. A cool room slows the flowers down and keeps them fresh for noticeably longer.
- Keep them away from fruit: Ripening fruit releases ethylene gas, which speeds up wilting, so keep your flowers away from the fruit bowl. Lift out any fading stems for the same reason.

Do you offer same-day flower delivery in Johannesburg?
Yes. Order before 12:00 PM and we deliver your flowers the same day anywhere in our Johannesburg delivery area. Orders placed after 12:00 PM are delivered the next day, or on a later date you choose at checkout.
Which areas of Johannesburg do you deliver flowers to?
We deliver flowers across the whole of Johannesburg, including Sandton, Randburg, Rosebank, Northcliff, Edenvale, Lenasia, Soweto, Alberton and the surrounding suburbs. If you are unsure about your area, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
How much does flower delivery cost in Johannesburg?
We charge a flat R99 delivery fee anywhere in our Johannesburg delivery area, no matter the size of your order.
What time will my flowers be delivered?
All our deliveries leave the shop after 12:00 lunchtime and arrive the same afternoon, seven days a week. If you need your flowers by a specific time, add it to your order notes at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate it.
Can I include a personal message with my flowers?
Yes. Every bouquet includes a free printed message card. Type your message at checkout and we will deliver it with your flowers.
How fresh are your flowers?
We buy our flowers daily from trusted South African farms and the Multiflora flower market, and our florists arrange each bouquet shortly before it goes out for delivery, so your flowers arrive fresh and last longer.
Can I order flowers in advance?
Yes. You can schedule your flower delivery for any date up to 14 days ahead. For busy periods like Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, we recommend ordering 2 to 3 days in advance.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can pay securely online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay or Google Pay through our trusted payment partners Yoco and PayFast.
Can I collect my flowers instead of having them delivered?
Yes. You are welcome to collect your order from our flower shop in Lenasia. Contact us after placing your order to arrange in-store collection.
